Shaun's work focuses on the wellbeing of the artist and the audience. The large, abstract creations invite the viewer to engage with vibrant, bold expressions of shape, colour and pattern which evoke rhythm, sound and emotions and enable the perception of ‘hearing the colour’ and ‘seeing the music’ as the forms sing from the canvas.

Shaun hopes that his work will entertain, improve the mood and lift the spirits of the service users and the health professionals challenged with providing care.

Shaun studied for his MA in Art, health and wellbeing at the University of Wales and has run musicpainting workshops for many years at community halls and hospitals.

Since Covid, workshops are held at his studio for friends and family as he concentrates on his own painting, but is he is also working hard to secure funding to establish a permanent group for the wider community at the Baptist church near his studio and home in Rogerstone.

A recent article in the British Dental Journal shows Shaun's work at the Llanishen Dental Centre in Cardiff
