The Brynmawr Arts & Crafts Society was formed in July 1987, following a meeting by local townspeople, and is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. Originally, the Society met once a month for a presentation or demo that was arts or crafts related. In addition, the Society organised and ran an annual arts & crafts exhibition for Brynmawr's local artists and craftspeople.
The format has changed a little over the 30 years and the Society now provides three workshops between April and October in the Brynmawr Learning Action Centre. These are available to members for free and to visitors for a small fee. The Society's Annual Exhibition takes place for a week towards the end of August and is open to both members and non-members. The Exhibition covers both paintings and crafts.

This is the 52nd show in a series of exhibitions in and around Nevill Hall Hospital, organised by Gwent Arts in Health. Garth is a local charity that aims to help realise the potential of the arts in promoting health and wellbeing.
