This September, a weekly mindfulness course for ABUHB staff wellbeing is taking place at The Friars Education Centre (Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport). The course is open to NHS staff and starts on Thursday 3rd September 2026.

COMING TO OUR SENSES is not your typical mindfulness course.

This is a creative, in-person experience that blends guided meditation, applied theatre, group connection and practical tools you can actually use between sessions.

It is for anyone who wants to feel better, think more clearly, and develop a mindfulness practice in a way that feels alive, enjoyable and human — not dry, worthy or hard work.

Expect:

• guided meditations
• creative challenges
• simple “handy hacks” to use between sessions
• a supportive course guide
• a fun, insightful experience shared with colleagues

If you’ve been feeling stretched, busy, pressured or a bit disconnected, this course offers space to reset — and a way back to yourself.

In person sessions:

Thursday 3rd September 9.30am – 1.00pm
Monday 7th September 9.30am – 1.00pm
Thursday 17th September 1.00pm – 4.30pm
Tuesday 22nd September 1.00pm – 4.30pm

Please note: attendance of least 3 of the 4 sessions is required. And you must attend the first session.
