This summer GARTH welcomes artwork from Blaina Primary Schools in its new display cases at Nevill Hall Hospital.
Arts Alive, who produced the Dreamscape project on show in the Main Outpatients area at Nevill Hall has collaborated with Ystruth and Coed Yr Garn primary schools in Blaina. Children from years 5 and 6 ( aged 9 - 11 yrs ) worked with Artists Amy Mackenzie-Mason, Kate Tiernan and Kate Raggett to produce the work exhibited. The children were asked to explore their built and urban environment making observational drawings and collages which they then developed into the mono and three colour press prints exhibited here.
This project was supported by a bequest from the family of Anthony Lynch, who tragically died in 2008, and is dedicated to his memory and to his love of the local landscape.
Arts Alive would also like to thank the Arts Council and BBNPA for their support.
Arts Alive is an independent art and education charity founded in 1988 and based in South East Wales. We run outdoor and indoor projects, workshops and events that nurture and sustain creativity. We work with all ages to provide the widest possible participation in, and enjoyment of the arts with an established profile for our work with children and young people.
