We have a new selection of artwork in Main Outpatients and in our display cases this month. Work from Cerys Jackson, Ella Wilding, Ralph Heron (Abergavenny Art Group) and younger artists can be seen on the ground floor of the hospital, near the main entrance.

 

Cantref Primary School and children of Ward 2/3

Thank you to staff member Johnathan Morris-Powley – Health Play Specialist - for a display of pictures drawn by the children of Ward 2/3 at Nevill Hall Hospital and from Cantref Primary School. The children were asked what they think hospitals will look 70 years from now. They drew these pictures as part of a 1940s inspired party to celebrate NHS70 on the Children's Ward. Many visitors made contributions – the heart NHS comment is by one of our doctors, and Glyn Jones, the Director of Finance for ABUHB also made a picture. #NHSCYMRU70 / #GIGCYMRU70

Ralph is a member of the Abergavenny Art Group and enjoys painting and drawing. Abergavenny Art group celebrated its 80th year in 2017. It always welcomes new members! Ella Wilding: postcards in Pen and Watercolour

Ella is a Newport based nurse who works within palliative daycare services. Ella is also an artist who enjoys working outdoors with drawing and painting materials.  

“There is something special in working directly outdoors; feeling the atmosphere, weather and lie of the land. I employ line and colour to capture the qualities of place and I leave with embedded  memories.”

The postcards on show here include trips to West Wales, Dyfed, North Devon and Tuscany.
