Professional Artist Vicky Wilson presents work by the Residents of Penpergwm House Residential Home Fine Art Club, for whom she has provided a unique arts intervention service for the past 8 years as their Freelance Artist in Residence. Vicky has initiated major intergenerational arts projects for the residents that engage with their local community and enabled them to participate in National events.

At Penpergwm House, Vicky is part of the activities team built up of a number of professional individuals offering a range of opportunities with a holistic outlook for individual care for a better way of life.

Vicky has provided annual performance and exhibition opportunities for the residents using Art Therapy, Museum Touch and Social Engagement educational techniques for lifelong learning. Amongst which have been a performance in Gwent Theatre, an exhibition in the National Roman Legion Museum, a 12-month exhibition in the National Museum Wales Cardiff and in 2012, an exhibition in Abergavenny Museum and a prize winning Carnival Float entry in this year’s Llanthony Show.

Vicky’s takes her visual arts services ‘VizArt’ across the UK and became a Cultural Olympiad Lead Artist for the London 2012 Olympics visual arts performance. Penpergwm House celebrates its 25th year in the service of Care and Vicky replicated the Olympic rings she first made for the torch relay to use on the Penpergwm House Llanthony Show Float.
