Outpatients Waiting Area, Nevill Hall Hospital, Brecon Road, Abergavenny NP7 7EG
East Side Art Club was founded 11 years ago. We have 19 members of mostly retired, enthusiastic amateur artists from all over Newport who meet every Tuesday at Eveswell Community Centre. We regularly hold exhibitions in and around Newport and have supported Caerleon Arts Festival for many years. We have also exhibited at the Vintage Car Rally, Fourteen Locks and the Rogue Fox Café. Our most prestigious exhibitions to date have been in the Riverfront Gallery and St. Woolos Cathedral.
We all have our own individual styles and paint a wide range of subjects in watercolour, acrylics, pastels and oil paints. We are constantly looking to improve our expertise by holding workshops with guest artists.
Two of our members have won prizes for their artwork. Chris Hanbury won the ’En Plein Air’ competition held at Pontypool Park, and Lucille Crane won the Chapel Cottage Portrait competition.
