Gwent Arts in Health are proud to welcome Papillon Art and their exhibition to Nevill Hall Hospital. Papillon Art is a local art group that aims to provide a safe, calm, stimulating and healing environment within which to make art together. With guidance and help from qualified teachers the class is offered to people with varying degrees of mental health problems in the community, and from local hospitals.

There are free classes in Christchurch community hall, North Street, Abergavenny, on Monday mornings from 11 to 1 and on Wednesday afternoons from 2 to 4. The group encourage interested people to call in and see them if you are looking for something like this to help you. The kettle is always on!

The group has been running for 7 years now and have a thriving group of participants! Many friends have been made in this friendly and supportive group. They regularly exhibit the amazing work produced by the class. The celebration of everyone’s achievements is paramount. This year, one of Papillon’s artists exhibited at the Hay festival, and they are exhibiting in the Melville centre during the Abergavenny Arts festival (28th– 30th June) and in the Gunter house. In October, they will hold their own annual exhibition on North Street.
