Ella Wilding

The paintings on display were inspired by the gardens and allotments near my home in Newport. Many of the works were painted directly outdoors where I enjoyed responding to the higgledy, piggledy mix of sheds, flowerbeds and greenhouses. A few works - influenced by Spring flowers and suburban patterns - were made using a more playful, imaginative approach.

Clare Parry-Jones

Herd of Winds - Ice Horses in Siberia

Clare Parry-Jones is a performance artist and photographer, based in Powys, working internationally. Clare was invited to be the photographer for the Herd of Winds festival on Lake Baikal, Siberia, in early Spring 2014. Twenty sculptors created over three hundred life-sized horses from ice blocks cut from the surface of the lake. More of Clare's work is on show at The Melville Centre, Abergavenny.

Ruth Searle

Recently, I have been exploring nature through abstract paintings with colours chosen to reflect natural elements such as copper, silver, gold and the blues and greens of the natural world, with hints of vibrant sunsets. I love the creativity of working in abstracts, which contrasts with the more detailed animal portraits I've done previously.

I hold regular open days at my studio in Monmouthshire and visitors are welcome by appointment. My next open studio will be 15th to 17th May 2020 as part of the Open Gardens event at Llanvair Discoed, near Chepstow. All work is for sale.
